These Savory Breakfast Pop-Tarts are a delicious twist on the classic pastry, featuring turkey bacon and chicken ham for a hearty breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt, then cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in cold water and form into a dough. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  5. Place turkey bacon and chicken ham on half of the rectangles, add some pepper, and top with the other rectangles.
  6. Seal the edges with a fork, brush the top with beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add cheese to the filling.
  • These can be frozen and reheated in the oven.
