A delicious and indulgent take on mac and cheese that combines the flavors of creamy cheese sauce, sweet honey, and peppery chicken.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking until thickened.
  4. Add the cheese, honey, chicken, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until everything is well combined and the cheese is melted.
  5. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni, mixing well.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until bubbly.
